Fishing from a kayak is becoming more and more popular as the years go by, and with good reason too. Fishing from a kayak is a great way to get on top of the fish because unlike fishing from the bank you are not restricted to where the land lies. Unlike larger day boats for fishing, you are not restricted by size and motor noise either. Kayaks are nimble, small, and light which allows them to float silently under brash, unnoticed through reed beds, and into shallow bays without bottoming out or stirring up silt.

Sitting so close on the water is a great way to get closer to nature and explore what the outdoor world has to offer but having a full-size canoe has its flaws. Unless you have a large enough vehicle or a means of towing your canoe it can be a pain getting your boat on the water. If you live in a small apartment (also like me) but love canoeing, then you probably don’t have anywhere to store a full-size open-top canoe anyway. So how can you get around these issues and still enjoy a day or week on the water?
